Sitting on the sunny corner of North Cross road in East Dulwich is the well loved and known, Jeannie Avent Gallery. This November the space is home to TRIO, an all female exhibition made up of
Louise C. Galizia, Ana Gallego and Corin Ashleigh Brown.
Having exhibited alongside each other at various South London art shows and events over the last decade, Louise, Ana and Corin come together in this one off multidisciplinary show opening 20 November 2024. Trio celebrates the collaborative and supportive nature of exhibition and the show is an exciting mix of illustration, painting and mosaic.
Running for 2 weeks, TRIO promises to deliver a variety of interest and an opportunity to purchase original artworks and prints. Come and meet the women behind the work as they share their individual talents and celebrate the creative bond they have developed over the years.
Louise C Galizia
Born in Malta, Louise is an award winning filmmaker and fine artist now based in South London, focusing on Portraiture, Landscapes and still life in oils. She is currently developing various short and feature films whilst pursuing her passion for oil painting. The last 10 years has seen her drawing on the disciplines of both film and fine art to inspire her work, giving it a unique voice. Between directing projects she enjoys the simplicity and intimacy of painting as a means of expression.
“It's not just about coverage, or conveying what you see in front of you - it's about uncovering what’s below the surface - the emotion, tone and meaning of a moment. I want people to have a response to the story or painting: to feel the temperature of the night air as they walk through a landscape; to question what a person is feeling as they sit ...; to feel the sadness, love or joy that those characters are experiencing as we watch their story unfold."
She has spent the past year studying portraiture under Alex Tsavaris at the Dulwich Art Group with a focus on Alla Prima techniques and she continues to develop her skills while completing commissions and taking part in various local exhibitions in South London to being part of more auspicious shows like the Mall Galleries, home to The Federation of British Artists.
Ana Gallego
Harking from Spain with a background in Industrial Engineering and Product Design, Ana now works full time as a watercolour architectural artist based in South London. The pandemic was a watershed moment for Ana and in 2021 she decided to concentrate on illustration and become a full time artist.
There is a great probability that you will have seen Ana’s illustrations of iconic London and UK buildings with a focus on those that have been the historical heartbeat and fabric of the local communities in which they exist.
“My collection has become an accidental archive and tribute to the High Street. As time goes by, places that I have painted have announced that they will be closing their doors. I am glad to have painted them and they now form part of my little collection forever. As the project grows, I am realising the importance of showcasing as many small independent businesses as I can. Promoting small independent business is very important for our communities and our culture.”
You can find Ana exhibiting across London from makers fairs and markets to more illustrious galleries such as Tom Cox Gallery this September.

Corin Ashleigh Brown
I see mosaic making as a rebellious act!
In a world speeding up under the influence of technology and the unrealised capacity of AI over the arts, Corin moved away from her career in photography to embrace a slower form of making.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Corin trained as a photographer whilst living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over the last decade Corin has slowly returned to her love of the handmade, recently completing her diploma at The London School of Mosaic. She has been trained in the Spilimbergo way under the tuition of Giulia Vogrig and has worked on some large scale wall and floor mosaic commissions.
2024 saw Corin working with the team from London School of Mosaics to fabricate Adam Nathaniel Furman’s mosaic design for London Bridge Station, installing the 57 meter mosaic in July this year. She is currently working on an exciting new marble commission with notable mosaicist, Gary Drostle in collaboration with TFL for St James’s Park Station in central London due to be installed this November.
“What I love about mosaics is their solidity, longevity and the joy that this decorative art brings to people using and living in architectural and public spaces. I get immense satisfaction from working with my hands and negotiating the creative challenges of image making in mosaic.”
For her personal work Corin enjoys taking a humorous look at modern everyday objects and themes, translating them into mosaic using the rules and techniques of the classical Roman and Greek mosaics of antiquity. You may already know some of her small incidental series of mosaics from ‘Corin’s Quirky Collection’ which are dotted around the South London streets of East Dulwich and Penge. Corin brings the Quirky Collection together alongside new work, not to be missed this November at TRIO.
